Home construction and exterior materials
Roof coverings, valleys, penetrations, vents, eaves, siding, windows, doors, decks, and architectural transitions
Ember exposure and ignition pathways
Gaps, rooflines, soffits, vent openings, deck intersections, and design features that may trap or admit embers
Defensible space and extended vegetation zones
Landscaping, tree spacing, ladder fuels, ground cover, combustible materials, and fuel continuity across expanded property areas
Terrain and fire behavior factors
Slope, wind exposure, setbacks, topography, structure-to-structure exposure, and features that may influence radiant heat and fire spread
Drone-assisted aerial imaging is used extensively to evaluate elevated and hard-to-access areas, particularly complex rooflines and multi-level structures.
